On June 20,1977,
Radford Auto Auction joined the automotive industry, operating as Triangle Auto Auction located next
to the Christiansburg Livestock Market in Christiansburg, Virginia.
On our first evening in business, a then overwhelming 142 cars rolled through our single lane operation. In order to meet the potential for an eager automotive market, we swiftly added a second lane. Again our auction, almost overnight, outgrew its capacity and we knew it was time to go full scale so we could accommodate the loyal dealers who were prospering along with us. After 15 months in the original location, we moved to the current site just of I-81, exit 109 in Radford, Virginia. This site was chosen for its easy access from all directions and designed in such a way to enhance a fluid and productive operation. Upon moving, we changed our name to Radford Auto Auction.
